The Farm-to-Market Road Impact Assessment (FaMRIA) Project is a collaboration between Caraga State University (CSU) and the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE). Its primary objective is to assess the impact of farm-to-market roads on socio-economic factors and agricultural productivity within rural communities.
The workshop has brought together an assembly of experts and engineers led by Dr. Raquel M. Balanay, the CCAARRD Caraga Director; Dr. Jayrold P. Arcede, the MSCRC Director; Ms. Antonette T. Torres, Writer/Researcher; Engr. Aljon E. Bocobo and Engr. Neil Caesar M. Tado, Faculty Researchers from the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CSU-DABE); and Mr. Jayson C. Dollete, the Project Development Officer of FaMRIA. The project is led by Dr. Jaymer M. Jayoma, the Project Manager.
The framework development workshop aims to establish a structured approach comprising key components such as data collection methodologies, analytical techniques, impact assessment indicators, and protocols for interpreting results. This framework will serve as a comprehensive roadmap for researchers and practitioners in gauging the impacts of farm-to-market roads on rural development and agricultural sustainability.
Together, this collective endeavor aimed to propel forward the understanding and enhancement of rural development and agricultural sustainability through assessment and strategic planning.
